Pristina, October 6, 2023 – The long-anticipated handover event for the groundbreaking PhDICTKES (Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies for Kosovo’s Economic Sustainability) project took place in Pristina today, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of technology and education in Kosovo.
The event, which was attended by prominent dignitaries, academics, and technology enthusiasts, was held at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Prishtina, where participants gathered to celebrate the successful completion of this transformative initiative.
The PhDICTKES project was launched 2019 with the aim of enhancing Kosovo’s technological infrastructure and nurturing local talent to support economic growth and sustainability in the region. Over the past 3.5 years, it has achieved remarkable success in achieving its objectives.
During the handover event, project leaders presented their findings, showcasing the innovative research and development work undertaken by PhDICTKES scholars. The project has contributed significantly to advancements in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and the establishment of a National PhD school in ICT.
In his opening remarks, prof. Anita Mirijamdoter, the Project Director, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders and partners who had supported the project from its inception. She emphasized the importance of continued investment in education and technology to drive Kosovo’s economic growth.
Key dignitaries, including government officials and representatives from the academic community, lauded the project’s impact on education and technology in the region.
